Top Ten U.S. Beaches, and Others Left Off

'Dr Beach' released his annual list of the Top Beaches in the U.S.

This is one of my favorite Travel Lists - but I disagree with him this year. Here is his list:

1. North Beach, Fort De Soto Park, Fla.

2. Ocracoke Island, N.C.

3.Hanalei Bay, Hawaii

4. Caladesi Island State Park, Fla.

5. Fleming Beach, Maui, Hawaii

6. Coast Guard Beach, Cape Cod

7. Coronado Beach, Coronado, San Diego

8. Cape Florida State Park, Miami, Florida

9.Main Beach, East Hampton, N.Y.

10. Hamoa Beach, Maui, Hawaii

I'm always glad to see his list include Hawaii beaches and at least one California Beach - but I think he missed a few. Here are some of my favorites I talk about in the Podcast:

Kauai, Hawaii: Poipu Beach and Tunnels Beach

Oahu, Hawaii - Makapu Beach, Ala Moana Beach and Sandy Beach (unless you are a world class bodysurfer, stay on share at Sandy Beach

Southern California - Newport Beach and Huntington Beach (my bias, I grew up here. )
